Sometime you download some programs from internet from an unknown source or publisher or untrusted source so there is 90% chances of those files are infected with virues or malwares so how to cheak whether the particular programs are infected or not ,well I have some easy method to find out if a program is infected from any viruses ,worms without having to run the program. we have some programs to check the infected files.

Sandbox
According to Wikipedia sandbox is a security mechanism for safely running programs. It is often used to execute untested code, or untrusted programs from unverified third-parties, suppliers and untrusted users.

With the help of Sandbox you can run infected files without fear of infecting your pc because Sandbox behave like isolated space on a Hard disk so you can easily infected program. Vmware (Most effective)
VMware is a virtual machine software suite for x86 and x64 computers , which allows you to use one or more virtual machines simultaneously with the running multiple operating system at same time . in simple words a Virtual machine is an operating system complete with virtual hardware which run under on another operating system. whenever you install new operating system on VMware workstation it will take minimum 1 GB space on your hard disk as a virtual partition.

The most effective method because you can run your infected program and you need to manually analysis "what does infected programs do", and if any damages occurred don't worry it's on virtual machine it won't effect on your real hard disk or operating system.
A good free vmware program is 'Microsoft Virtual PC'

Multi virus scanners online
Multi-scanners , scan a single programs with multiple anti-viruses database to see if it detect malwares and viruses. This does not mean the program is 100% infected but it does increase the chances just like many hacking tools are detected as malware but they are not. You can use Jotti's, Virus Total , NoVirusThanks multi scanners to scan infected files.
